对“美国当代写实油画展”，作为开幕式嘉宾之一的江汉大学艺术学院院长王心耀称，有三幅作品给他留下很深印象。

"The United States of America on the contemporary realism oil painting exhibition",as Wang Xinyao Dean opening ceremony guests of the Art College of Jianghan University said, there are three works left him deep impression.

一幅是布面油画《画家妻子的肖像》，“很古典，逼真、细腻，在写实中透出纯洁、善良、美丽的意蕴，观后令人十分愉悦”。据了解，该画作者是“80后”画家约书亚·拉罗柯，是一位年轻且迅速成长的艺术家，对复兴古典绘画传统充满热忱。拉罗柯说：“我很喜欢画我美丽的妻子劳拉，这幅作品令我感到喜悦。有些人可以从这幅肖像画中看出我们的亲密关系，这使我受宠若惊。无论如何，我不忍心卖掉这第一幅描绘她的肖像画，因此这幅作品我一直收藏至今。”

另两件王心耀重点推荐的作品是加里·戈德比《条纹风景》、托马斯·瓦伦蒂《纽约周日的清晨》，这两件作品“构图、造型完美，色彩明快，通透，有典型的美国绘画风格，不同于欧洲的古典绘画风格”。

《条纹风景》的作者加里·戈德比自述：“这幅作品是一年前我和家人一起去荷兰旅行时画的。我们乘坐火车从阿姆斯特丹到法国的科尔马，经过比利时北部。夏天的天气凉爽且多雨，这片风景吸引了我。”

"Fringe landscape" author Gary Goldby stated: "this work is a year ago my family and I went to Holland travel painting. We take the train from Amsterdam to France,Colmar, through the northern belgium. The weather in summer is cool and rainy,this piece of scenery attracted me."

《纽约周日的清晨》描绘的是被阳光照耀的美国纽约街道景象，作者托马斯·瓦伦蒂自述，他在贫困、种族多元化的纽约南布朗克斯生活过多年，童年的回忆形成了他的艺术视野，他常在画中描述纽约的店面和街道，而路人被忽略，光影之间的氛围效果营造了孤独的感觉，掩饰了城市的内部动乱和纷争。
