好福气，我们读书时能碰上这么一位老师一一谢珍珠。

　　她在八十岁结集出版的作品集里写了一段“心语”，我边读边留心自己的感受一一将几十年从教心得与情感聚在不及千字的平实表述里，没有惊人之语障人眼目。让人眼眶一热的是，她特意提到要感谢与她朝夕相处的学生，称他们是最好的老师。她还写道：“我热爱艺术更热爱我的学生。”

　　老师执教六十年。我不知她担任过多少班级的多少课程，任过几届班主任。学院许多老师，都曾是她的学生，她却无任何资深优越感的流露，此种襟怀今天已不多见。我们78级师范班在老师家长式的呵护下，常自作多情地以为是她最引以夸耀的，要不然，怎么可以当年考入学院时一班人骄恃无恐，以专业课时太少为由，竟大胆嚷着取消英文课，还看着老师受命处理此事的无奈与设法表露的同情；要不然，怎么可以集体借故不上政治课外出看解禁后的西方电影，还恶作剧似地刻意安排老师听我们逐个痛心疾首状的检讨，看着老师半是嗔责半是怜爱而忍俊不禁。

　　毕业后过了几年，老师去了南京执教。很长一段时间在昙华林校园不习惯听不见老师的声音。共临一水，却天各一方，想老师初居异地身心不适，两地间师生联络几近半熄，同学们无不设法打探老师境况。老师关注学生成长成名一如既往，不忘邀获有成就的同学取道金陵讲学，海报上溢美之词，令学生辈感动愧颜至今。离休后，老师待在武汉的时间多了，她的声音回到了她熟悉的空间。学院发展非昔日可比，位于汤逊湖畔的藏龙岛校区已做为湖北美术学院的主校区了。昙华林校园内来来回回走动身影中，不相识的面孔越来越多，留作追忆昔日时光的时间却愈来愈少。学者为友，师者为友，只是当年就读昙华林时踏走过的小路已不再可辨。

　　老师旺盛的精力转换成了无尽的艺术创作能量，在长期的艺术实践中，她对美的追寻，对教学的投入，种种艰辛覆盖了艺术生命跋涉历程。她关注时代发展，记录下自己的激情。画采风见到的民俗，画身居城市的变化，画一个个活生生的人物，她笔下人物的眼神看上去总放出一种光彩。他们的形象即是时代的形象。我着意排出画册中下列作品的序列，无异是一幅讴歌大自然美景和社会建设发展图景的长卷。

Biography of artist

　　谢珍珠1930年出生于武汉市，1949年毕业于湖北省一女师，1949年考入湖北省教育学院艺术科美术专业学习，1951年毕业后留校任政治辅导员、系秘书、班主任等职(附：艺术科1953年并入华中师范学院美术系。

Xie Zhenzhu was born on 1930 in Wuhan City, Hubei province in 1949 and graduated from a female teacher, in 1949 and was admitted to Hubei Province Education College Art Department of fine arts majors after graduation in 1951, she let the political instructor, Department Secretary, teacher and other staff(Appendix: Art Department in 1953 into the Fine Arts Department of central China Normal university.

　　1956年保送中央美术学院高校教师进修班主修油画。1958年回湖北美术学院，任美术系油画教研室主任，师范系主任和基础课创作课教学。1984年调江苏教育学院筹建艺术系，(音、美两专业)任系主任。

In 1956, China Central Academy of Fine Arts college teachers majored in oil painting. Back in 1958 Oil Painting Department of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts,director of the Department of fine arts, and director of the Creative TeachingDepartment of basic course teachers. 1984 Jiangsu Institute of EducationPreparatory Department of art, (sound, beautiful two professional) head of the department.

　　现为中国美术家协会会员，中国美术教育学会会员、教授。传略被辑入《中国美术家名人辞典》、《中国当代美术家人名录》、《中国美术》和《中国美术年鉴》等辞书。

Member of Chinese Artists Association, member of China Art Institute of education,professor. A series in "Chinese famous artists dictionary", "Chinese contemporaryartists," Chinese art "list" and "Chinese Art Yearbook" and other dictionaries.

　　1959年，油画《好阿姨》、《棉田姑娘》入选参加湖北省市美展，在湖北日报发表。

　　1964年，国画《白手起家》(与汤文选合作)入选参加全国美展，被中国美术馆收藏。

　　1971年，油画《毛主席写农运考察报告》，为庆祝中国共产党建党五十周年被选送北京参加全国美展。
