第十二届湖北省美术作品展以“中国梦”为主题，共评选出600余件作品。

7月22日，第十二届湖北省美术作品展在湖北省美术学院美术馆开展。湖北省美术作品展每五年举办一届，本届展览由湖北省文化厅、湖北省文学艺术界联合会、湖北省美术家协会共同主办，以“中国梦”为主题，广泛发动和组织全省美术家深入基层，写生创作，全面展现了五年来我省美术界的创作成绩、总体水准和美术事业蓬勃发展的新成就。

据了解，本次展览共收到参评作品1300余件，评选出入选作品600余件，优秀奖作品67件，铜奖作品30件，银奖作品20件，金奖作品10件。参展作品不仅在题材、内容和表达方式上呈现出空前的丰富性，并且在多个角度表现出艺术家们的社会责任感和人文关怀精神。展览将从7月22日持续到8月2日。

湖北省美术学院院长徐勇民表示，与往届相比，此次展览作品更加多样化，每位作者都尽可能按照自己的价值取向和表现手法，不受其他因素影响，尽自己的能力来表达自己的所感所思。同时，徐勇民指出本届参展作品的作者趋于年轻化，评审会也希望能够鼓励、提携更多的年轻作者。他说，湖北目前的艺术生态非常健康，大家都各自探索、各自尝试，不受外界影响和束缚，非常可贵。

湖北省美术家协会会长唐小禾曾参加过八次省展评选工作，在本届展览上，他表示，这或许将是自己最后一次参加评选工作。“我在大学二年级的时候参展了第四届美展，从第五届开始我就参与了美展的工作，见证了湖北五十多年的美术发展历史，看到一批一批的美术家出现，薪火相传，是很荣幸的。”
